How to borrow
  • Open access area and open stacks: Collect the items directly from the respective shelf by call number, then borrow from self-checkout machines or the service desk with your library card

Special loan conditions apply for lecturers and doctoral students of the University of Leipzig.

Exception: If a book you have borrowed is recalled, no extension of the loan period is possible and the book must be returned in due time.
We will inform you immediately by e-mail in the event of a recall.
Please ensure, especially in the case of longer absences, that the books can be returned on time in the event of a reservation in order to avoid fines.

Members of HMT

Members of the Leipzig University of Music and Theatre can register at the UBL free of charge with their student or library card. Please simply come to one of our service desks.The WLAN can be used with the HMT's eduroam access.

The two institutes for musicology at Leipzig University and the University of Music and Theatre (HMT) together form the Centre for Musicology. Within the framework of this cooperation, you can make full use of the services of both libraries.

The prerequisite for equal use of all services is enrolment at the other institution as a secondary student. This second enrolment is free of charge for you:
