The two joint exhibitions were funded by their respective libraries as well as by the Association of Friends of Leipzig University, the Bibliotheca Albertina, and the Sparkasse Leipzig. The exhibition in Lyon was supported by Direction régionale des affaires culturelles Auvergne – Rhône-Alpes.

The production of the catalogue was funded by the German Federal Culture Foundation (Kulturstiftung der Länder). The Leipzig Printing museum is a cooperation partner and helped produce a video on antique printing technology.
